
Welcome to the Meyer Levin I.S. 285 family!
My name is Donna Phillips and I have been appointed as you school Parent
Coordinator. The Parent Coordinator is part of the administration team
working under the supervision of the principal, School Leadership Team,
Parent Associations, community groups, and parent advisory councils.
The purpose of this position is:
Research shows that parent/family involvement improves student
achievements and other behaviors.
One of our objectives is to fully implement the school’s Uniform Dress Code
for all students. This will create an environment for uniqueness and discipline
in our school. I am truly excited and looking forward to our new working

The PTA is an organization where parents are actively involved, sharing
ideas about programs and activities. We provide information and
resources that will strengthen the connections between the home,
school, and the community.
There are opportunities to fit every schedule. If you are a retiree, stay
at home parent, or an overworked professional, please tell us how you
can help.
Working together, we can build an inviting and inclusive Meyer Levin
community for our students, parents, and staff.
This year's goals are:

- Providing support, both financial and hands-on, for school needs
- Improving vital communications between school and home
